Admission instructions for cats and dogs

 

⦁    Animals are admitted between 9.30am and 10am unless otherwise arranged in advance

⦁    Food should be removed after 8pm the night before the procedure and no food given on the morning of the procedure for    adult cats and dogs. For kittens, puppies and all other species, please check with staff.

⦁    Water should not be restricted. Offer water as normal

⦁    Please take dogs out for the toilet before they are admitted

⦁    If it will not be the owner bringing in the animal for admit please ensure that the person is over 18 and is aware of any medication your pet is on, when they were last fed and any changes in health

⦁    Please ensure we know your emergency contact number for the whole day

⦁    Once your pet is admitted we will ask you to phone later in the day for an update (normally between 1pm and 1.30pm) and to arrange a collection time

⦁    Collection times are between 2.30pm and 3.30pm unless otherwise arranged in advance

⦁    If you have any concerns please contact the surgery for advice

⦁    We offer a pre-anaesthetic blood test (at an additional cost) for animals being admitted to assess organ function prior to treatment. In some cases, this is a necessity. Staff will advise you further on admission.
